Diagnosed with Crohn's disease when she was 16, she learned to bal- ance sick days with well and was able to graduate from Central High School and the University of Michigan. Trained as a teacher, Mrs. Kron enrolled in a Audrey Kron program at the University of Detroit. She wrote a column, 'Ask Audrey," for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. She also published her own story in Ask Audrey and a second book Meeting the Challenge: Living With Chronic Illness. _ Mrs. Kron had a large private practice as a psychotherapist and delivered numerous speeches and traveled the world. She was a board member of the Birmingham Temple and a member of the Birmingham Temple Family of Women. She also co-founded a book group that was fea- tured in Life magazine for its longevity. Mrs. Kron belonged to a movie group and sup- ported local theaters. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dr. Lawrence Kron; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rebecca Kron of Coto de Caza, Calif; son and partner, Robert Kron and Mark Gonzales of Southfield; daughter and son-in-law, Karen Kron and Dan Welcher of Chicago; mother, Mae Katz; sister and broth- er-in-law, Judie and Sid Rosen of Honolulu, Hawaii; grandchildren, Joey, Scotty and Jack.
