Pan-Am Cagers
Seek Applicants

But that's not enough
for her mother.

Philadelphia — Applications for the
junior boys basketball team, which
will represent the United States at
the 10th Pan American Maccabiah
Games in Caracas, Venezuela, next
summer, are now being accepted.
Eligible participants must have
been born in 1987, 1988 or 1989.
The Pan Am Maccabiah Games will
take place July 17 27, 2003. A
training camp will be held in Boca
Raton, Fla., beginning Saturday
night, July 12, 2003. The commit-
ment to take part'in this event is
two full weeks.
The team will be selected by tapes
and recommendations. However, if
enough applications are received,
October tryouts in Los Angeles and
Philadelphia will be held.
The team will be coached by
Brian Schiff, who led the U.S. jun-
ior Maccabiah teams to gold medals
at both the 9th Pan Am Maccabi
Games in Mexico City (1999) and
at the 16th World Maccabiah
Games in Israel (2001).
