"On Rosh Hashanah, you eat apples
and dip them in honey because that
is how you get a sweet year. This
year, we wish
for people
who are less
fortunate
than us and
the people in
New York —
they are spe-
cial. We want
to remember
them in our

And God created Man. He called to
His angels and he said, "What can
you give to Man, My creation, My
son?" A glowing angel, halo hover-
ing above his head, wings perched
daintily on his back, stepped forth
bravely before the Lord and spoke.
"I can give him intelligence."
"Very good," God said.
Another radiant angel stepped up
to where his brother stood. "I can
give him creativity and imagina-
tion."
"Excellent," the Lord said, and
smiled.
A few minutes later, after grace,
compassion and a good soul had all
been suggested and accepted, anoth-
er band of angels arose before the
Almighty. These angels weren't glow-
ing and radiant, however. They were
gray, ashen and gloomy. They bore
neither wings nor halos.
