graduated with a master of
science in health care man-
agement from the depart-
ment of health policy and
management, Harvard
School of Public Health at
Harvard University in
Cambridge.
He is president of Joint
Venture Hospital
Laboratories, a Michigan
network of laboratories and
managed care facilities. Dr.
Lawson is also medical
director of the System
Laboratory Network and
director laboratories and
chief of pathology for St.
John Health System.
Dr. George Dean of
Bloomfield Hills was award-
ed a Lifetime Achievement
Award by the
Michigan
Academy of
Family
Physicians.
Dr. Dean, in
private fami-
ly practice
for 45 years,
is a past pres- Dr. George
ident of the
Dean .
'Michigan
Academy of
Family Physicians and was
Michigan's family physician
of the year in 9 9 5 .
Marjorie Fuller of West
Bloomfield has joined the
therapy staff of Davis
Counseling Center in
Farmington Hills. Fuller, a
certified grief counselor, was
director of education and
training for the Detroit
chapter of the Alzheimer's
Association.
Stephen Goutman of West
Bloomfield has been elected
to the board of trustees for
Johns Hopkins University in
Baltimore.

Bingham Farms was recog-
nized with the award for
Outstanding Community
Service in Recruiting
Volunteers at the American
Diabetes Association
national conference in San
Francisco. Dr. Edelson, an
America Diabetes
Association Michigan Board
member and president of
the American Diabetes
Association Midwest
Regional Board, is a staff
physician at Beaumont
Hospital and chief of
endocrinology at Sinai-
Grace Hospital. He prac-
tices at Associated
Endocrinologists in West
Bloomfield.

Dr. Martin Tamler of West
Bloomfield will be honored
Oct. 5 by Helping Our Pain
& Exhaustion (HOPE), a
new non-profit organization
for fibromyalgia and chron-
ic fatigue. Dr. Tamler of
Beaumont Hospital in Troy
and Royal Oak will be rec-
ognized for his work pro-
moting fibromyalgia educa-
tuion and his support assist-
ing individuals with chronic
fatigue syndrome.

Dr. Ilana Kutinsky of
Farmington Hills completed
her fellowship in cardiology
and electrophysiology at the
University of Colorado
Health Centers. Recently,
she presented her research at
the World Congress of
Electrophysiologists in Nice,
France. Later this year, Dr.
Kutinsky will join Michigan
Heart Group, which prac-
tices at Beaumont Hospital
in Royal Oak and Troy.
Alliance for the Mentally
Ill of Oakland County will
hold a family support meet-
ing 7:30 p.m. Monday,
Sept. 9, at the Mental
