The Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit received a
gift of $250,000 from the
Masco Corporation Founda-
tion to fund one of five perma-
nent exhibits in the new hands-
on children's museum, spon-
sored by Ford Motor
Company, scheduled to open
next year in the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield.
The Masco gift will be desig-
nated for the Sharing Home
Portal. The area will feature a
modular, home environment
equipped with a functional
kitchen that will celebrate the

rich traditions of Jewish home
life, ritual and holiday obser-
vance.
The foundation is making a
similar gift to ACCESS, the
Arab Community Center for
Economic and Social Services
in Dearborn.
The children's museum, a
6,000-square-foot multi-media
educational space, will be
housed in the Harry and
Jeanette Weinberg Judaic
Enrichment Center at the main
entrance of the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield.

MJAC Slates Annual Meeting

The Michigan Jewish AIDS
Coalition will hold its annual
meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday,
Sept. 12; at the Cranbrook
Center Clubhouse, 18333
South Drive, Southfield. The
2001-2002 board members will
be honored.
The 2002-2003 board is
comprised of president, •
Edwina Davis; vice presidents,
Rhon Goldman, Ron Elkus,
Janet Moses, Susan Rogers; sec-
retary, Michael Daitch; treasur-
er, Faith Landsman.

OCC Forum For Women

The Womencenter at Oakland
Community College's Orchard
Ridge campus in Farmington
Hills will present a discussion
group for women from coun-
tries around the world begin-
ning Tuesday, Sept. 10.
The group will be facilitated
by Arlene Frank and is free and
open to the public. It will meet
in the J building, room 309,
from noon-1 p.m. Participants
may bring a bag lunch or eat at
the college's cafe.
The Womencenter book
group will meet from 1-2 p.m.
starting Wednesday, Sept. 11,

in Building J, room 309. It is
also led by Arlene Frank.
Participants are advised to read
the books prior to the sessions.
Admission is $10 and pre-
registration is required.
The first book to be dis-
cussed will be When We Were
Grownups by Anne Tyler.
Marge Piercy's Three Women
will be covered at the second
session on Sept. 25. Later selec-
tions will be made by the
group.
