With the unemployment rate at a near-record 10.5 percent among Israeli Jews, more and more Israeli lino- to make ends families are struggling meet. A growing number of them have fallen below the. poverty line. Some claim the economic situation in Israel hasn't been so bad since the pre- state era of the 1940s. Locally, Michigan Friends of the IDF has undertaken a $200,000 emergency campaign to help fund this effort. For information or to phone in a credit card donation, call (248) 203-2060.
