Spirituality Beth El Sisterhood Hosts Local Artist Linda Zalla will be the guest speaker 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at the opening dinner of the Temple Beth El Sisterhood. She will speak on "The Psychology of Color." A graduate of Wayne State University with a bachelor of fine arts degree, Zalla received her master of fine arts from Linda Zalla the Center for Creative Studies in 1964. Working primarily with watercolors and mixed media, she has been featured in many exhibitions. Her works are also included in local corporate collections. Tickets are $20. Segal. For more than three decades, Rabbi Segal led the congregation from its early days in northwest Detroit to its current loca- tion in Farmington Hills. He was a founder of Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Rabbi Segal Detroit. The Selichot program will start at 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, with rec- ollections of Rabbi Segal by members of the congregation. Rabbi Daniel Nevins will play recorded excerpts from sermons delivered by Rabbi Segal. The synagogue social hall will be dedicated to Rabbi Segal as a result of an endowment by Jean and Sam Frankel. Following refreshments, participants will continue with the traditional Selichot service in the main sanctuary. The community is invited. Shabbat Rocks At Adat Shalom Adat Shalom Synagogue will hold a Shabbat Rocks service 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. '30. "Under the Stars" will fea- ture the music of Rabbi Daniel Nevins, Rabbi Herbert Yoskowitz and Cantor Howard Glantz. The service will follow a 5:30 p.m. picnic dinner, by advance reservation only. Dinner tickets are $16 adults, $10 children. The service will include a tribute to the heroes of Sept. 11. For infor- mation, call (248) 852-5100.
