the first round of the playoffs.
Detroit-2 lost to Israel, Houston-2
and Baltimore (Red) while defeating
Milwaukee in the round robin. The
results of the games are deceiving
because the team was competitive in
every game and could have won all
but those played against Israel.
Even against the very strong Israeli
team, the eventual gold medal win-
ner, Detroit-2 scored more than any
of Israel's opponents up to that
point. After defeating the Baltimore
(Black) team, Detroit-2 needed to
defeat the eventual silver medalist,
Houston-1. Houston was too strong
and Detroit-2 moved into a consola-
tion game with Milwaukee. Detroit-
2 finished the tournament by defeat-
ing Milwaukee 25-12, 25-14.
Monica Silvian led the team in game
winners. The team had excellent set-
ting by Silvian, Lindsey Scher and
Rachel Brody throughout the tourney,
with a power game supplied by Tedi
Milgrom, Lauren Schwartz and Dina

the three-game sweep of Bergen
