Rachelle is a student at West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. She enjoys softball and volleyball. Volunteering when Temple Israel housed the homeless was her most meaningful mitzvah project. Jen is an eighth- grade honor stu- dent at Dunckel Middle School in Farmington Hills, where she has served on the student council for two years. She enjoys Spanish and choir and likes reading and playing video games. Among her mitzvah projects, she volunteered when the synagogue housed the homeless, assisted at the synagogue's Mitzvah Day at Elan Village in Southfield and helped at the Oakland County Master Games for seniors. Leah Mira Hurvitz will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Congregation B'nai Moshe. She is the daughter of Alan and Ruth Hurvitz and sister of Steven and Daniel Hurvitz. Bernard Indenbaum and Rae Hurvitz are her proud grandparents. Leah is also the granddaughter of the late Shirley Indenbaum, the late Sylvia Indenbaum and the late Harold Hurvitz. Leah is an honor student at West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. Her interests include sports, dance and music. She plays oboe in the school band and is on the basket- ball and softball teams.
