John J. Mames Chapter, Michigan
Region of Magen David Adom for
Israel (Israel's Emergency Service), will
launch a community-wide tzedakah
campaign aimed at children in
Michigan, encouraging them to send
blessings of healing to children in
Israel.
The focus is to collect new bears
and blankets for injured children who
are being transported by ambulance in
Israel. The bears and blankets will be
'shipped to Israel in ambulances
donated by the Michigan Region.
Operation Bear-Blanket will launch
Sunday, Aug. 25, at the Michigan
Chapter of Magen David Adorn for
Israel's annual dinner held at Adat
Shalom Synagogue in Farmington
Hills. New teddy bears and blankets
will be on sale at the dinner.
Attendees will be asked to donate
$18 for a bear or blanket to be donat-
ed and shipped in their name. All
proceeds will go toward medical
equipment and supplies in Israel.
For information, contact ARMDI,

ual programs involving this project.
