Shir Shalom Sets
Golf Outing

Temple Shir Shalom will hold its
annual golf outing noon Monday,
Sept. 30, at Shepard's Hollow Golf
Club in Clarkston. The outing will
benefit the temple's religious school
scholarship fund for children of sin-
gle parents.
Included will be a box lunch,
shotgun start, scramble or stroke-
play format, prizes and contests and
dinner.

JVS Program
Aids Women

Women who have lost their primary
source of income and are unem-
ployed or underemployed receive
emotional support and vocational
assistance to find immediate
employment through the JVS
Women to Work program.
A free orientation meeting about
the program is scheduled from 10
a.m.-noon Tuesday, Sept. 3, at JVS,
29699 Southfield Road in
Southfield.
The meeting will outline the serv-
ices available through the prograin,
which include job referral and place-
ment assistance, resume writing,
effective interviewing, and group
support. Women to Work is funded
by the Michigan Department of
Career Development.

Na'amat Hosts
Fall Luncheon

Na'amat USA, Greater Detroit
Council, will hold its annual fall
luncheon noon Tuesday, Aug. 27, at
Adat Shalom Synagogue. The lunch-
eon is co-sponsored by Dimona,
Hanita-Israel and Sharona chapters.
The speaker will be Sheriff
Michael Bouchard of Oakland
County. He will speak on "Safety
for Seniors."
