the Jewish Community

Wayne State has had a long and rich relationship
with the Metro Detroit Jewish population. Some
highlights:



WSU's Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies
sponsors a broad array of programs and activities
that bring the best Jewish studies scholars to the
community and campus.



The university's 14 colleges and schools have a
history of providing rich educational opportunities
for young Jewish men and women; Wayne State's
Jewish alumni number in the tens of thousands.



Many campus facilities proudly bear the names of
generous Jewish benefactors. The latest facility is the
new home of the $65-million Eugene Applebaum
College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, recently
hailed as the most high-tech building in
Southeastern Michigan.



Wayne State's chapter of the HiIlel of Metro Detroit
serves Jewish students with its on-campus kosher
restaurant, computer lab, library and social and
cultural programs.



WSU's Purdy/Kresge Library has Metro Detroit's
finest collections of materials relating to Judaism.
