CARLA JEAN SCHWARTZ Local Columnist T he local chapter of the American Cancer Society recently held the event "Relay for Life.". Jon Calcott, Jeff Calcott and Jon Dwoskin formed the "Calcott and Dwoskin Cancer Kickers," participating in the 24-hour walk around the track at Pontiac Northern High School. Friends and family joined the cause by cheering the walkers and making donations. After the 24-hour walk, the team greeted many supporters at the Baja Fresh restaurant in Troy, where restaurateur Michael Versaci donated a portion of the lunch proceeds to the team. Tracy Jackier and Michael Harpaz at the Technion ben Brothers Jeff and Jon Calcott participated in the American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" event. The "Calcott and Dwoskin Cancer Kickers" team, one of 12 participating groups, raised $13,500 in donations. Emily Cohen of the American Cancer Society helped organized the event. "My brother, Jon Dwoskin and I are so happy at the many generous dona- tions made to help fight cancer," said cancer survivor Jon Calcott of Birmingham. "We were thrilled with the turnout and plan to raise more funds next year." Some of the supporters included Karen Koenig, Cory Trivax, Sholme Benezra, Erin Schwartz, Jane and Richard Ruzumna, and Andy Farbman.
