The event is scheduled 7-10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Fiddler Restaurant, 6676 Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield. Tamara Friedman is event chair; Michael Kuchersky is the host. Friedman is working with the Committee of Jews from the Former Soviet Union, a newly formed out- reach group at the Jewish Federation. "All we had to do was mention that the evening is to help Israel, with all proceeds going to people there, and we had a wonderful response," Friedman said. "So many people were interested in gathering and helping." The Federation-sponsored Israel Emergency Campaign benefits chil- dren and older adults directly affect- ed by government cutbacks in fund- ing to health, education and social services in Israel. Keynote speaker at the Fiddler will be Federation Chief Executive Officer Robert Aronson. The evening will include a limited-ticket raffle for prizes, including a deluxe trip to Las Vegas, a spa package, a night out with dinner and an opera performance, and watches. Sponsors for the event are Cattleman's Meat Company, DOmestic Linen & Supply Company, the Fiddler Restaurant, Ginzburg Travel, Hiller's Supermarkets, Lighting Supply Company, Morris Kosher Poultry, Produce Palace, Sam Valk Productions, Seven Days Newspaper, Tamara Institute De Beaute, Toby & Associates, Universal Watch & Jewelry Co. and VIA Distributors.
