She learned English, graduated from high school in 1927 and worked to help support her family until 1935 when she married. LOUIS SOKOLOFF, 88, of West Bloomfield, died July 22, 2002. He was an auto dealer and owner of Victory Motor Sales on Gratiot. He ran one of the first car leasing compa- nies in the U.S., Allstate leasing, which was the first dealership to advertise on TV on the Soupy Sales show. Mr. Sokoloff was given an honor- able discharge from the Army to return to convert his dealership into a manufacturing facility for airplane parts for the U.S. government. He also held several patents.
