Aug. 11, at Adat Shalom Synagogue.

Don Cohen, an
independent Israel
advocacy consult-
ant working with
the Jewish
Community
Council of
Metropolitan
Detroit and the
Jewish Federation
of Greater Dayton,
Ohio. A frequent
contributor to the Jewish News,
Cohen also heads AYC Consulting,
specializing in pro-Israel advocacy
and education.
Cohen has been a consultant for
both the Michigan Department of
Civil Rights and the Detroit
Tricentennial Committee. He for-
merly was Michigan Region director
of the Anti-Defamation League.

The Metro Detroit Attorney Division of State of Israel
Bonds honored 48th District Judge Edward Avadenka
and Oakland County Prosecutor David Gorcyca at its
annual Eleanor Roosevelt Humanities Award dinner.
More than $730, 000 in bond investments was raised.

joined the staff of the Jewish
Community Center
of Metropolitan
Detroit as an assis-
tant executive
director.
Stone is responsi-
ble for recreation
services (sports,
recreation, aquatics,
in-line hockey and
David Stone
the Health Club),
day camp, youth
and membership
services.
He is filling a position vacated by
Stuart Wachs, who left the JCC to
become executive director of the JCC
in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Stone was assistant executive direc-
tor of the San Antonio (Texas) Jewish
Community Center, where he also
served as sports and fitness director
and program director.
