Local seniors are invited to be guests, with residents of nursing. homes and senior facilities especially welcome. The 17-member Big Band Express, with vocalist Denise Stevens, and the Temple Dancers will be featured in a program of music made famous by Count Basie, Les Brown, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and Harry James. The group also will play jazz and contemporary tunes along with music written by the band mem- bers. Big Band Express has been together for 30 years though the only original member is Richard Cywinski, alto sax and business manager. The newest addition to the group is conductor-trombonist Mike Rumbell, a school music teacher in Northville and Plymouth. B'nai Moshe Adds Education Head Congregation B'nai Moshe hired Daniella HarPaz Mechnikov as the new director of education. She comes to B'nai Moshe with extensive educa- tional experience and fluency in both Hebrew and Yiddish. A native Detroiter, Mechnikov is an alumni of Hillel Day SChool of Metropolitan Detroit and the University of Michigan, and a teacher at both U- M and Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass..
