Tikvah Group
Installs Board

At the direction of installing officer and
former group president Sue Luria, indi-
vidual candles were lighted by newly
installed board members to signify their
contribution to bringing hope for the
future of Hadassah. At the June 11
installation luncheon at Milk & Honey
of West Bloomfield, 60 Tikvah Group
members also celebrated national
Hadassah's 90th birthday year.
The leadership welcomed to the
2002 2003 board included new co-
presidents Nancy Kantor and Cathy
Slavik along with directors Phyllis
Applebaum, Barbara Charlip, Betty
Chernoff, Annie Cohen, Jean Dubin,
Laurel Epstein, Beth Erman, Miriam
Forman, Linda Golding, Karen
Gunsberg, Barbara Hoffman, Sue E.
Kaufman, Barbara Moretsky, Sheri
Rotenberg, Sheila Schiffer, Linda
Schnyder, Linda Sherr, Sherrie Stern
and Elaine Wolf. Immediate past pres-
ident Nancy Finkel chaired the nomi-
nating committee.

Lauds Leaders

Patricia Oseff of West Bloomfield is the
new president of the 700-member
Eleanor Roosevelt Hadassah Group.
At the group's May 14 installation
dinner, outstanding volunteer Eva
Lande of Bloomfield Hills received the
National Leadership Award for her
"commitment to the Jewish people and
the Zionist ideal." Judy Goodman of
Bloomfield Hills hosted the gathering.
Irma Glaser of West Bloomfield, a
former group president, installed the
2002-2003 board. In addition to
President Oseff, the new Roosevelt offi-
cers are Jackie Cohen, Gayle Eder,
Evelyn Freeman, Raya Goldenberg,
Sharon Goldenberg, Judy Goodman,
Phyllis Jarvis, Sonja Kass, Gail Katz, Eva
Lande, Anita Naigles, Susan Robin,
Bertha Rochlen, Rita Sukenic, Janel
Tarnow, Esther Allweiss Tschirhart,
Doreen Turbow, Elaine Weston and
Meredith Weston-Band.
Eleanor Roosevelt Group, part of the
Greater Detroit Chapter of Hadassah,
raised more than $69,000 for the
Hadassah Medical Organization in
Israel during the just-completed pro-
