B'nai. Moshe
Installs Officers

Adat Shalom Men
Choose President

On June 8, during Shabbat services,
Rabbi Elliot Pachter installed the new
officers and board of directors for the
2002-2003 year at Congregation
B'nai Moshe.
Continuing in his second year as
president is Larry Gunsberg. He has
been actively involved with synagogue
activities since 1997 and has been in
the men's choir since he was a teenag-
er.Also installed were Dennis Deutsch,
Ellen Kotler and Bert Stein as vice-
presidents; Douglas Zack as treasurer,
Ruth Shayne as recording secretary;
and Jeffrey Diskin as corresponding
secretary.

Goldstein, Annette
Kaufman, Don
Sachs and Marvin
Zucker were
Larry Gunsb

members.
Remaining on as directors for the

Joel Grand, Ellyce Field, Aaron
Martin, Dennis Paul, Naomi
Pinchuk, Anne Rottman, Alisa
Peskin-Shepherd, Stewart Silverman,
Dan Sperling and Marc Sussman.
Installed as an honorary board
member was Renee Gunsberg.
Past presidents of the congregation
also serve on the board: Pearlena
Bodzin, Susan Friedman, Michael
Grand, Irving Lopatin, Steven
Rabinovitz, Robert Roth, Charles
Ruben, Sharlene Ungar and Leonard
Wanetik.
Affiliate presidents are Gail
Ellenbogen, sisterhood; and Mark
Millman, men's club.

Harold Baker of Farmington Hills has
been elected president of the Adat
Shalom Synagogue Men's Club for
2002-2003.
The native Detroiter was a long-
time active member of A_havas Achim
and then Beth Achim; he came to
Adat Shalom four years ago when
Adat Shalom and
Beth Achim merged.
Along with his
wife, Marsha, Baker
has been a member
of City of Hope as
well as an active sup-
porter of the Yellow
Ribbon Program of
Michigan, which
focuses on teen sui-

for the coming year are vice presi-
dents, Joey Lebovic, Gary Morof,
Murray Sittsamer, Steve Woronoff;
recording secretary, Les Berman; corre-
sponding secretary, Ed Kohl; immedi-

Bill Graham, Larry Kaplan, Kevin

Elects Board

At a membership meeting of
Congregation Beth Ahm, the follow-
ing officers were elected: president,
Sidney Blackman; vice presidents,
Robert Steingold, Marilyn Rice, Ara
Rubyan; treasurer, Alfred D. Bricker;
recording secretary, Henry
Lonnerstater.
Bricker was also honored as a Life
Trustee for his work with the congre-
gation. Phyllis Levin was elected as a
trustee for a three-year term. Steve
Traison was appointed a trustee.

Summer Fun
At Beth Ahm

Congregation Beth Ahm groups are
making plans for summer activities.
United Synagogue Youth and
Kadima are planning a trip to Cedar
Point on Sunday, June 23. USY on
Wheels will be hosted at Beth Ahm on
Thursday, June 27. The annual family
programming trip to Waterford Oaks
Waterpark will be Sunday, June 30.
On Wednesday, July 3, Beth Ahm
will join the 10th Salute to America
at Greenfield Village in Dearborn
and will hear the Detroit Symphony
Orchestra, enjoy a picnic and watch
fireworks. July 15 is Faith Day at
Detroit's Comerica Park; the Tigers
will play. July 21 is Cub Scout Day
at Comerica Park; newly inducted
Cub Scouts will walk the bases.
The Steak Night barbecue at the
congregation will be Sunday, July 28.
