committee, she was also a volunteer
teacher to young children.
Mrs. Levine is survived by sons and
a daughter-in-law, Michael and Kelly
Green of Calabas, Calif., Robert
Green of Northfield, Ohio; grandchil-
dren, Candice and Michael Tahi and
Lindsay Green. She was the beloved
wife of the late Leon Levine and the
late George Green.
Private interment. Contributions
may be made to Temple Beth El,
7400 Telegraph Road, Bloomfield
Hills, MI 48301. Arrangements by Ira

BRYAN RALPH MEDWED, 44, of
Kibbutz Samar, Israel, died June 10.
Bryan and his wife, Ilene Moskowitz,
made aliyah to Israel 18 years ago.
They had met in Detroit-Habonim,
and their desire to help build Israel -
through kibbutz life took them to
Israel.
Bryan was a multi-talented person;
he was a musician who played many
instruments and composed both clas-
sical and folk music. Taking part in
the many aspects of kibbutz life, he
was especially involved in the uses of
solar and wind energy to help make
Israel energy independent. He worked
part time at the National Solar Energy
Center in Sde Boker, Israel.
Mr. Medwed is survived by his
beloved wife, Ilene Moskowitz;
beloved daughters, Paz, Shani and
Stay Moskowitz Medwed; mother and
stepfather, Mary and Rodomir Perica
of Maryland; stepmother Elaine
Medwed of Farmington Hills; moth-
er-in-law and father-in-law, May and
David Moskowitz of Southfield; sister
and brother-in-law Barbara and Doni
Mizrav of Israel; brothers, Gary
Medwed of Virginia, Donald Medwed
of Switzerland; sisters-in-law and
brothers-in-law, Karen Malofy of Ann
Arbor, Sharon and Robert Glaser of
Illinois, Susan and Mark Goldhaber
of North Carolina. He was the loving
son of the late Joe Medwed.
Interment at Kibbutz Samar in
Israel. Contributions may be made to
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
(indicating by note that it is for the
National Solar Energy Center in
memory of Bryan Medwed), c/o Prof.
David Faiman, National Solar Energy
Center, Blaustein Institute for Desert
Studies, Ben-Gurion University, Sde
