Shabbat Talk

In response to the escalation of anti-
Semitism in France, the American
Jewish Committee, Metropolitan
Detroit Chapter, will host a special
Shabbat minchah program with the
Midwest Consul General of France 4:30
p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek West Bloomfield, B'nai
Israel Center.
The service will be followed by a
discussion. Dominique Y. Decherf
will speak about the current political
climate in France and will respond to
questions about French policies.
Decherf joined the French foreign
ministry in 1977. He-served as deputy
consul general in Jerusalem in 1982-
86.
The program is open and free to the
Jewish community; a light supper will
follow the program. Advance reserva-
dons are required.
AJC Vice president Jay Knoll will
chair the discussion. The program is, in
part, co-sponsored by the Michigan
Region of the Anti-Defamation League.
