JUNE 2002 • STYLE AT TUE JN
estimation weddings are in vogue. Exotic locales
can turn a wedding into a vacation for all involved.
Just ask Rhonda Newburg and Jeff Schwartz who
married at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. With
the help of wedding coordinators, the details will be planned
perfectly. If you haven't traveled to ritzy Palm Beach lately, just
stop by the Gold Room in the Breakers Hotel in Style at the
Jewish News.
Talking about trends, there is a new hair technique that will
tame the wildest curls. Throw out the flat-irons and gel, the
Yuko System has arrived in town. Our assistant editor, Linda
Bachrack, who has curls galore, attended a seminar at Salon
Sydney to write about this new technique. Bonnie Solomon,
Julie Dorfman and Melissa Shulman go from thick and wavy to
silky and straight before your eyes.
Also, meet artist Steven Goodman and view his stunning
jewelry and other pieces of hand-crafted art.
Around town, Style at the Jewish News attended the Michigan
Modernism Exposition and an event hosted by the Jewish
Home and Aging Services Auxiliary.
In our fashion spread, we highlight some trendy outfits for
the season featured from Saks Fifth Avenue to benefit
HAVEN.
Well, it's June. Let's hope for summer weather so we can
wear our sandals and bathing suits.
Sincerely,
Carla Schwartz
