She enjoys dance, lacrosse and comput- ers. She looks forward to her sum- mer experiences at Camp Walden in Cheboygan and is going to partici- pate in the JCC Maccabi Games in August. She has made donations to the Myasthenia Gravis Association and Mott's Children's Hospital at University of Michigan in honor of her bat mitzvah. Daniel Marc Pogoda will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday, June 8, at Congregation B'nai Moshe. His proud parents are Lori and Maurice Pogoda. His brothers Adam- and Michael also will participate in the Shabbat serv- ice. Proud grand- parents are Shirlye and Peter Helman. He is the grandson of the late Sylvia and I. Edward Pogoda. Daniel is a seventh-grade honor student at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. He is an accomplished actor who has performed in numerous theater productions. In addition to acting, Daniel enjoys playing tennis, playing the piano and hanging out with his friends. For his mitzvah projects, Daniel worked with senior citizens at the Fleischman Residence in West Bloomfield, spent time with Farmington Hills-based JARC resi- dents and packaged food for Yad Ezra in Berkley. Scott Jordan Sonenberg, son of Julie and Dan Sonenberg and brother of Andy, will celebrate his bar mitzvah Saturday, June 8, at Temple Israel. His proud grand- parents Charlotte and Dr. Meyer Arbit and Shirley and Jack Sonenberg will share in the sim- chah. An honor stu- dent at Walnut Creek Middle School in Walled Lake, Scott has interests that include basketball, Tamarack Camps, football, music and video games. He found it meaningful, as part of his mitzvah project, to volun- teer when Temple Israel housed the homeless.
