the schmooze level was too high."

The Best Of Everything
many restaurants are
getting on the so-called "Rollback of
Prices" kick ... but the quality in some
cases is not nearly as in yesteryears.
Now comes the new Justin &
Jordyn Chophouse on Fourth and
Lafayette in Royal Oak ... with some-
thing that has got to be a first ... A
grand opening rollback of prices to
those owner Scott Rubin originally
wanted to have before he was touted
otherwise ... this happens frequently
to someone who hasn't been in the
full-service restaurant business before.
Thankfully, the prices weren't for
long with J & J, which still has the
same high quality Black Angus beef.
Instead of $29 for that juicy B-
ounce fillet, they're now charging a
respectable $22 ... And no more $34
for the 12-ouncer ... The sensible
price is now $29 ... Also that 14-
ounce char-broiled New York Strip
isn't $33 anymore ... Properly so, it is
now priced at $26.
Certainly a first for Justin & Jordyn
... is Jewish News readers now being.
able to clip three introduction
coupons ... No charge for using the
$5 valet ... 20 percent off Sunday
through Thursday ... 10 percent off
Friday and Saturday ... Both of the
latter two offers do not, of course,
include booze.
By the way, apologies to Scott and his
wife, Kathy ... They have a boy, Justin,
and a girl, Jordyn ... not two boys.
THERE IS A good reason why
Cantor David Guttman at Beit Kodesh
Synagogue in Livonia has been getting
more notoriety of late.
David is a proud member of the
Detroit Cantors Council ... Besides his
spiritual vocalizing for 20 years at Beit
Kodesh, he has been doing numerous
concerts for 43 years at the Jewish
Community Center's Jimmy Morris
Prentis Building in Oak Park.
His track record also includes -sinaino- b
with the Civic Light Opera for three
months at Masonic Temple ... where he,
at one time, headlined a concert by
numerous B'nai B'rith lodges to raise
money for charity.
David's voice is still heard at many
organizational functions in the metro
politan sector.
