TITLE:

Managed Care, Medical Practice: Moral Choices in the Gray Zone

DESCRIPTION:

Managed care companies bargain secretly with health care providers,
limit enrollees' freedom of choice among providers, and sometimes
intrude directly into the physician/patient relationship. Are these
practices simply the price of socially responsible health care delivery
or rather ethically offensive intrusions? Dr. O'Connell will examine
the rise of managed care, its impact on the delivery of medical care,
and the underlying ethical issues.
