The Agency for Jewish Education of
Metropolitan Detroit nominating com-
mittee will present nominations for its
2002-2003 board of directors at the
annual meeting 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June
4, at Congregation Beth Shalom.
Arthur M. Horwitz has been nomi-
nated to serve a second year as president
and Dr. Joan Lessen Firestone as presi-
dent-elect. Nominated for vice president
is Susie Leemaster; treasurer, Gayle
Burstein; secretary, Susie Citrin.
Nominations for a one-year term as
members at large on the executive com-
mittee are Paula Glazier, Jeffrey
Schlussel, Andrew Weil and James L.
Jonas, ex-officio.
Nominations -for directors for a three-
year term are Susie Citrin, Dr. Helene
K. Cohen, Jacqui Elkus, Arthur
Horwitz, Susie Leemaster, Roberta
Madorsky, Jeffrey Schlussel, Audrey
Sobel, Michael Weinstein. Nominations
slated as a director for a two-year term
are Lawrence Epstein and Dorit
Schostak. Linda Goodman and Andrew
Weil are slated for nominations as direc-
tors serving a one-year term.
The AJE nominating committee
included Gayle Burstein, chair, Susie
Citrin, Arthur Horwitz, James Jonas
and Esther Sherizen.

Volunteers Help
At JCC Carnival

Volunteers are being sought for the
birthday bash and family carnival cele-
brating the Jewish Community Center
of Metropolitan Detroit's 75th anniver-
sary 1-4 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at the
JCC in Oak Park.
The celebration, co-sponsored by the
Jewish Federation's Neighborhood
Project, which is celebrating its 15th
anniversary, is looking for 80 adults and
teens for a variety of tasks.
Volunteers are needed for the follow-
ing: set up, tear down, parking, carnival
games, prize table, serving_cake, volun-
teer and-staff check-in, selling drinks
and popcorn and helping the pony ride
and kiddie train.
The event will be held rain or shine;
admission is free. To volunteer, call
Cathy Tasman, (248) 967-4030.
