Health Notes Dr. Barry Franklin of West Bloomfield, director of cardiac rehabilitation and exercise laboratories at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, has been selected by the Awards and Tributes Committee of the American College of Sports Medicine as a recipient of its 2002 Citation Award. Dr. Fanklin earned the honor for his many achieve- ments in the fields of exercise physiolo- gy, cardiac rehabilitation and sports medicine and for his contributions to the discipline with his writings, teach- ing, service and research. Dr. Franklin serves on the editorial board of 14 sci- entific journals and has authored or edited more than 300 articles, including 60 text chapters and 15 books. He authors a monthly health and fitness column for the Detroit Free Press.
