A seventh-grade
honor student at
Norup Middle
School in Oak
Park, Cayla enjoys
tennis, traveling, spending time with
family and friends and doing mitzvah
work. She has been a volunteer for
Race for the Cure, Yad Ezra in
Berkley and Farmington Hills-based
JARC and has visited seniors at the
Coville Apartments in Southfield. In
honor of her family and friends who
are celebrating the simchah with her,
Cayla made donations to 13 different
charities.

Jacob Andrew Raska will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, May 18,
at the Grosse
Pointe Jewish
Council. He is the
son of Marcy and
Jeffrey Raska and
the brother of
Maxwell. His
proud grandmoth-
er is Mildred
Lewis of Lake
Worth, Fla. His proud grandfather is
Melvin Raska. He is also the grand-
son of the late Morton H. Lewis and
the late Geraldine Raska.
Jacob is a seventh-grade honor stu-
dent at Lanse Creuse Middle School
Central. He participates on a special
laptop computer program at school.
Jacob plays travel hockey for the Mt.
Clemens Wolves; he also enjoys
snowboarding, snowmobiling and
spending summers at Tamarack
Camps. His mitzvah projects includ-
ed volunteering at Yad Ezra in

Berkley and donating money to help
Israel, the American Red Cross and
the American Diabetes Association.

David Alexander Schreiber will
become a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
May 18, at Temple
Israel. He is the
son of Drs.
Michelle and
Theodore
Schreiber and
brother of Hilary.
His proud grand-
parents are Reva
Axner and Serafina

and Dr. Ossias Schreiber.
David is an honor student at
Cranbrook-Vaughn Middle School
in Bloomfield Hills. His interests
include snowboarding, swimming,
video games and computers. Doing
volunteer work at Temple Israel's
office was one of his favorite mitz-
vah projects. He also volunteered at
Yad Ezra in Berkley.

Deborah Ellen Simons will be called
to the Torah on Saturday, May 18, at
Congregation
Shaarey Zedek
Southfield. Her
proud parents are
Nancy and Alan
Simons. She is the
twin sister of
Helene and big
sister of twin
brothers Robbie
and Michael. Also
sharing in this simchah are grand-
parents Arlene and David Margolin
and Joan and Sheldon Simons.
Debbie is also the granddaughter of
the late Ethel Simons.
Debbie is an honor student at
Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills. She
enjoys playing soccer, basketball,
water-skiing, snow-skiing, camping
and spending time with friends and
family. Debbie has been involved in
several mitzvah projects, including
volunteering at Shaarey Zedek's
Camp BetMan, raising money for
the firefighters in New York City
and working with Farmington Hills-
based JARC residents as well as with
senior residents at the Fleischman
Residence in West Bloomfield.
