fter more than 10 years in their building on
10 Mile Road in Oak Park, the girls of Beth
Jacob School, a division of Yeshiva Beth
Yehudah, finally have a chance to stretch

their legs.
On May 7, Edward and Gloria Meer of Bloomfield
Hills cut the ribbon inaugurating the new gymnasium
they contributed to the Orthodox day school. The
gym, which adds 9,000 square feet to the girls school,
will serve about 400 students in grades 1-12.
- After selling his family's company, Meer Dental
Supply, Edward Meer has become a major benefactor
to many Detroit-area schools and iristitutions. In addi-
tion to the Beth Jacob gym, he has donated a science
lab and nursery school building to the Southfield-based
Yeshiva Beth Yehudah.
