Michigan 1313Y0 Sends
Two on March of the Living

BBYO has participated in the March of the Living
program since its inception in 1988. In 1990, BBYO
began sending its own national delegation as part of the
thousands of youth who have gathered in Poland from
around the Jewish world and then continued on to
Israel. This year has proved no exception as BBYO once
again has sent a national delegation of Jewish teens to
participate in the March of the Living. Those repre-
senting Michigan BBYO this year are Maggie Lee of
Ruach BBG and Emily Feldman of Dora Savage BBG.
There was serious discussion among March of the
Living leadership as to whether the program should be
cancelled this year due to the unrest in the Middle East.
However, they decided to forgo the Israel part of the
experience, but maintain the trip, as the March would
continue to be an excellent Holocaust education
program. Several days in Spain were added to the end of
the trip to explore the Golden Age of Jewish Life there.
Not all constituent groups of the March continued to
participate once the Israel portion was cancelled, but
BBYO felt that the experience was an important one and
continuity of participation should be maintained.

Alumni Homecoming

Each year, the Michigan BBYO Board sponsors an
Alumni Homecoming for graduates of the last 5 years.
Alumni now know that on the Saturday of Thanksgiving
break, there's a place to go to see their friends who are
dispersed at universities throughout the country. Our
goal is to keep in touch with these alumni so that they
will come back to us as volunteer advisors.

Recent BBYO grads gathered at Langan's Northwest Bowl
for some heavy schmoozin'. Pictured L to R are Robyn
Berlin (MSU), Leslie Berlin (WMU), Elana Averbuch (UM),
Courtney Terrian (MSU), Jennifer Smith (Ohio State), and
