a long list of local restaurants. About
800 people, including students, teach-
ers and other staff members, enjoyed
heaping platefuls of food, with enough
left over for some 200 more.

"This is a wonderful bridge-building
opportunity for the parents as well as
the students," said event chair Nancy
Zausmer-Levy. "There are a lot of
communications difficulties with some
of the mothers from China, Japan and
Latin America, but somehow we get
the message across that we need to feed
our children, to show them the won-
