MARK JEFFREY STEIN, 49, of
PHYLLIS DISKIN STROH, 76, of
Rochester Hills, died April 29. He was a
field consultant with
Southland
Corporation and a
graduate of Michigan
State University and
Central Michigan
University. He was
also a longtime and
successful fund- rais- Mark J. Stein
er for the Muscular
Dystrophy
Association. Mr.
Stein coached soccer, basketball and
baseball for CYO and Rochester Hills
Athletic League.
Mr. Stein is survived by his wife, Judy
Stein; daughter, Jennifer Stein; son,
Jason Stein; mother, Lillian Stein of
West Bloomfield; brothers and sisters-in-
law, Gordon Stein of West Bloomfield,
Keith and Ilene Stein of Algonac, Kevin
and Sharon Stein of Milford, Adam
Stein of Oak Park; father-in-law and
mother-in-law, Edmund and Bernice
Bombalski. He was the loving son of the
late Martin Stein.
Interment in Rochester.

fessor. He also was a graduate of the
University of Michigan with a degree in
civil engineering, a professor of civil
engineering at Michigan State
University from 1947-1956, a professor
of civil engineering at California State
University in San Diego 1956-1989 and
a lieutenant junior grade in the Navy
during World War II.
Mr. Stone is survived by his wife,
Dorothy Stone; four children; seven
grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law,
Charlene and Albert Dawes.
Interment in California.
