The weather was miserable, but, in many ways, it united the 1,000 hardy souls who turned out. One of the speakers was Judith Yovel Recanati, co-founder of NATAL: The Israel Trauma Center for Victims of Terror and War, in Tel Aviv. The Center is one of the programs assisted by Detroit Jewry's $5.3-mil- lion Israel Emergency Campaign. She reminded the crowd that the emotional scars from the latest Palestinian uprising will linger long after the violence ends. "Together," she said, "we are partners in our efforts to ease the pain of so many Israelis who are still paying the price for a free and independent Jewish state." Shabbat shalom! Robert A.
