Groskind Receives
Community Award

Elizabeth Kanter Groskind of
Huntington Woods is the most
recent recipient of Jewish Federation
of Metropolitan Detroit's Sylvia
Simon Greenberg Award for Young
Leadership and outstanding commu-
nity service.
Groskind is
)
a. veteran'
volunteer of
the
Federation,
having been
involved in
the communi-
ty since she
was a teen.
She's worked
on
Federation's
Annual
Elizabeth Groskind
Campaign for
years, solicit-
ing on behalf of the Campaign and
training volunteers.
She serves on the United Jewish
Foundation board and is a member
of the insurance subcommittee and
the Grand Resort oversight commit-
tee. She has been on numerous
Federation committees, such as
Strategic Planning, CORE and UJF
Centennial.
Groskind is a past president of
Federation's Young Adult Division.
While in YAD, she designed and ran
the Young Women's Leadership
Development program.
She serves as the secretary of the
JVS board and chair of the Jewish
Education Loan Service. She is a
founding member of City Year
National, a youth service in Boston
and a board member of City Year
Detroit.
She is the founder of Volunteer
Impact, a volunteer service corps
since 1990.
