He enjoys soccer, ski- ing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, water-skiing, hockey, track, playing guitar and going to Tamarack Camps. Jordan will donate a portion of his presents to Mogen David Adom, an organization that sends ambulances to Israel. Volunteering at Farmington Hills-based JARC bingos was one of Jordan's favorite projects. Ashley Rose Tamaroff will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday, April 27, at Congregation Beth Ahm. She is the daughter of Sandi and Jeffrey Tamaroff and sister of Jason and Ryan. Her proud grand- parents are Claire and Marvin Tamaroff and Ed Michels. Ashley is also the grand- daughter of the late Eleanor Michels. Ashley is an honor student at Abbott Middle School in West Bloomfield. Her interests include going to Tamarack Camps, any kind of art project, being on the computer and with her friends. Her mitzvah project includes helping out at Yad Ezra in Berkley. Justin Ross Tuttleman will celebrate his bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on Saturday, April 27. He is the son of Charlene and Eric Tuttleman and brother of Brandon. His grandparents are Nancy and Robert Tuttleman and MaryJeanne and Anthony Cudillo. An honor student at Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield, Justin enjoys soccer and being involved in the Olympic Development Program. He also is interested in reading about history and computers. He donated to the victims' families from Sept. 11 and volunteered during Temple Israel's Labor Day picnic as part of his mitz- vah project. Gabrielle Elizabeth Valk will celebrate her bat mitzvah at Temple Israel on Saturday, April 27, at Havdalah services. Her parents are Emily and Sam Valk and she is the sister of David. Her grandparents are Ray Shrage, the late Samuel Shrage, Betty and Honna Valk and Anita Kamenkovich. Gabrielle is an honor student at Berkshire Middle School in Birmingham. She spends her free time dancing, snow- and water-skiing, play- ing volleyball, basketball and tennis. During the summer, she enjoys Camp Tamakwa in Canada. For her mitzvah projects, Gabrielle volunteered at Menorah House in Southfield and worked at Temple Israel's Labor Day picnic. Michael David Yahkind, son of Veronica and Alexander Yahkind, will become a bar mitzvah on Saturday, April 27, at Temple Israel. His brother Andrew and grand- parents Raisa Borik and Elya and Lev Yahkind will share in the simchah. Attending Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield, Michael enjoys bas- ketball; computers, winter sports and • collecting basketball cards. Volunteering at the Danto Family Healthcare Center in West Bloomfield was one of his more meaningful mitzvah projects. Matthew Evan Zaks will read from the Torah on the occasion of his bar mitz- vah on Friday, April 26, at Temple Israel. His parents are Karen and Larry Zaks. His brother Jeremy and grand- parents Diane and Harry Posar will , share in the sim- chah. He is also the grandson of the late Sylvia and Irving Zaks. Computers, foot- ball, listening to music and attending Tamarack Camps are activities Matthew enjoys. He attends Orchard Lake. Middle School in West Bloomfield, where he is an honor student. Helping to feed underprivi- leged families at Yad Ezra in Berkley was his most meaningful mitzvah project.
