In 1950, a group of mothers gathered at the Dexter Davison branch to make Hanukkah gifts for hospital- ized children. Early Jewish Book Fairs had sections of Yiddish books. The Mothers Club held cooking classes in 1935 at the JCC on Woodward Avenue and Holbrook Street. The JCC memorialized Henry Meyers, inset, president of the JCC from 1937 to 1941 and a past president of the Detroit Library Commission, with a new library at the Curtis and Meyers Building. Attending the dedica- tion in November 1959 were, from left: brother Dr. S. G. Meyers, JCC Past President Morris Garvett, Detroit Public Library Director Ralph Ulveling, Charles Feinberg, JCC Past President Sam Frankel and brother Dr Maurice Meyers. The library was established at the eighth Annual Jewish Book Fair.
