The Center Theater put on many productions at the Curtis and Meyers Building. 1964 Detroit's JCC conducts the largest adult Hebrew program and is the first to bring in a shaliach (Israeli emissary). 1967 The center for Russian acculturation in Detroit, the JCC holds a midnight vigil on behalf of Soviet Jewry. 1976 The JCC building at Maple and Drake Roads in West Bloomfield Township opens.
