Roni Ben-Hur is about to
make his first appearance
in Michigan, his performance will
carry some Michigan roots. Ben-
Hui-, who grew up in Israel and
did some instrumental self-teach-
ing there, studied in New York
with a former Detroiter, bebop
pianist Barry Harris.
Ben-Hur will join another jazz
guitarist, Spencer Barefield, for
two musical evenings, April 26

and 27, at the CPOP Gallery in
Detroit. The collaboration will
be the first for the musicians
who were introduced by a
