. .. .......... Sarah is an honor student at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills; she also attends high school at Temple Beth El. She recently received her black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Sarah will attend her sev- enth season at Tamarack Camps and she also enjoys skiing and travel. Sarah is a life member of Hadassah, where she helps on the rummage sale, doll project, Ducky Derby, Orchards and Pontiac Lighthouse projects. She has also worked with Dor L'Dor through Hillel and with Farmington Hills- based JARC.. Aaron Thomas Pikstein will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday, April 20, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek Southfield. He is the son of Marty and Laura Pikstein and brother of Rachel. Aaron is the grand- son of the late Helen and Herman Pikstein. An honor student at Abbott Middle School in West Bloomfield, Aaron plays trumpet in two bands. Also special to Aaron are in-line hockey, his pets and snowboarding. He volunteered helping the elderly and the homeless at Open Hands Food Pantry in Royal Oak. Alan David Rowe will read from the Torah on the occasion of his bar mitz- vah at Temple Israel on Saturday, April 20. He is the son of Marcy and Steven Rowe and brother of Julia. His grandparents are Fred and Beverly Apel and proud great-grand- mother is Selma Apel. He is also the grandchild of the late Carolyn Apel and the late Betty and Fred Rowe. Alan attends Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield, where he is an honor student. Skiing, basket- ball, skateboarding, working the com- puter and playing video games are his favorite hobbies. His mitzvah projects include volunteering at Yad Ezra in Berkley and helping at Temple Israel's Labor Day picnic. Jodie Renee Schram, daughter of Kim and Walter Schram, will celebrate her bat mitzvah on Friday, April 19, at Temple Israel. Her brothers Chad and Brandon will share in the simchah with grandparents Fritzi and Marty Rott and Shirley and Carl Schram. She is also the grandchild of the late Harold Rieger. Jodie attends Walled Lake Middle School, where she is an honor student. Dancing and sum- mers at Camp Tamakwa in Canada are two of her favorite things. As part of her mitzvah project, Jodie made crafts for the homeless and assisted at Temple Israel's Labor Day picnic. Rebecca Hart Targan will celebrate her bat mitzvah at Adat Shalom Synagogue on Saturday, April 20. She is the daughter of Holli and Anthony Targan and sister of Lexi Targan. Proud grandparents are Franceen Hart and Barry and Arleen Targan. Also 'shar- ing in her simchah is her great-grarid- mother Bertha Kole. Rebecca is also the grand- daughter of the late Stanley Hart. Rebecca is an honor student at Abbott Middle School in West Bloomfield. She is a recipient of the Great Lakes Scholar and American Character and Citizenship Awards and is a published poet. Rebecca enjoys soccer and sum- mers at Tamarack Camps. She particu- larly enjoyed volunteering at Yad Ezra in Berkley as part of her mitzvah project.
