The 17th includes the southern por- tion of West Bloomfield, Beverly Hills, Southfiled Township and a part of Bloomfield Township. Fuller, 57, a West Bloomfield resident, ran for state senator in Ruth Fuller 1998 and for state representative in 2000. Married to Arnold Fuller and the mother of three adult children, Fuller is the chief operating officer of Zerosite Zone, a Keego Harbor non- profit art program which provides services for the mentally ill and chil- dren aLrisk. Fuller also owns a small business, a metal recycling company in Oakland County. Fuller is a board member of Women's Action for New Directions (WAND), where she serves as the program director for educational forums. She is immediate past chair- person of the West Bloomfield Lakes Area Democratic Club. Fuller is active with the Alliance for the Mentally Ill, based in Southfield, where she is drafting a resolution to be submitted to the state legislature regarding increasing and stabilizing funding for the men- tally ill. She conducts public educa- tional forums on mental health issues. As a county commissioner, Fuller would strive to increase services for the mentally ill. She hopes to decrease teen pregnancy and assist unwed mothers in gaining employ- ment and continuing their education. "I am concerned about the long- term, adverse effects to the county resulting from the substantial number of children who are born our of wed- lock." She wants Oakland County to gain additional funding from the state for the maintenance of the roads.
