This Monday,
April 22, is a cham-
pagne birthday party
for her ... with a
quarter of the pro-
ceeds going to the
Streisand fund for
. breast cancer research
... $35 admission ... for champagne, hors
d'oeuvres ... including her favorite nosh
of potato latices and maybe some stuffed
cabbage ... entertainment and a Barbra
Streisand look-alike contest.
On all other nights, no cover or admis-
sion charge to see all the mementos.
There was no cover or admission when
Barbra Streisand played the Caucus Club
in 1960 ... compared to the $2500 so
many paid for a ticket to see her in 1994
at Las Vegas' MGM-Grand.
ANNUALLY-AWAITED Night of
Games, its 39th by Galilee Chapter
Jewish Women International ... is set for
Wednesday, May 1, 7:45 p.m. ... at
Temple Emanu-El, 10 Mile, Oak Park
... Gifts, silent auction, refreshments, etc
... For more info, call Gari Feldman,

AFTER THREE YEARS at the
Compuware Arena in Plymouth, this
year's Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer
Institute's annual dinner changes back to
a previous yearly locale.
Number 20 returns to the Detroit
Marriott Renaissance Hotel ...
formerly the Westin ... Saturday,
May 4.
The black tie event features Michael
Feinstein on the piano ... hopefully
singing his interpretations of Irving
Berlin, Jerry Herman, Jerome Kern,
Cole Porter, Jule Styne, etc.
Feinstein's CD of singing Gershwin
has great hits like "Embraceable You,"
"Our Love Is Here To Stay," "Swanee,"
"Nice Work If You Can Get It," etc.
Eugene and Marcia Applebaum and
Jean and Sam Frankel are among the
12 couples who'll co-chair the dinner.
The annual Karmanos pre-gala usu-
ally held at a member's home a week
ahead, will this year be at the Dow
Tech Center in Auburn Hills ... Larry
Denton, president of Dow
Automotive and wife Carol are hon-
orary co-chairs.
It'll be another Karmanos first ... with
the three auto giants, Nick Scheele, Ford
president; Rick Wagner, president of
General Motors; and Dieter Zetsche,
president of Daimler-Chrysler expected
to be together as honorary co-chairmen.
