1-696 AT VAN DYKE • (810) 758-1800

"We want to maintain the integrity
of the history, to keep it straight and
not let it slip into mythology, with
heroes, and resisters and martyrs," he
said. "The media produced that
because it's easier for the popular con-
sciousness to absorb the subject."
He worries about the "trivialization"
of the Holocaust.
"The future of Holocaust education
is in places like this," he said. "It's not
in movie theaters."
Bolkosky and his team will continue
working on the oral histories.
He sets no numerical goals, only
continued goals of quality. He wants
people from all walks of life and edu-
cation to gain knowledge from what
these survivors went through.
"They are an invaluable resource —
you can't even begin to plumb what
they might offer for Holocaust educa-
tion," he said. "It's a very significant
collection. It may be small, but it's so
different." ri
