Peaceful
Pesach
0
f all the Jewish holidays,
Pesach is the most cele-
brated in North America
— and not coincidentally.
Pesach, which commemorates
our escape from Egyptian
bondage in ancient times, is,
above all, a family holiday cele-
brated largely at home.
The story is one of daring,
resolve and spiritual growth, with
great appeal to Jews of all ages
and backgrounds. It's a story that
tells of the founding of the Jewish
nation and the strengthening of
our relationship with God.
It's a story that takes on deeper
meaning this year as our beloved
Israel struggles to go on amid
relentless suicide bombings and
sniper attacks by Palestinian
extremists aligned with Yasser
Arafat.
This Pesach, as we sit down to
the table to learn, shmooze, drink
wine and eat from the seder plate,
let us also pray that Israel emerges
from the Mideast turmoil a
stronger, safer, more secure home-
land for Jews every-where.

Shabbat shalom!
