That people are booking these
trips again is a relief to the travel
industry, hard hit by the events of
Sept. 11. Lieberman said that many
of the clients who cancelled trips fol-
lowing the terrorist attacks on the
United States are again rebooking
those same trips for the spring."
"These people know that life goes
on. There are still reasons to travel
and safe places to go," she said."
Most often, the impetus for such
trips is a celebration of a special life
event, such as a birthday or anniver-
sary. The event usually helps to
heighten the experience.
Carol and Dr. Adam Cooper of
West Bloomfield found this to be
true six years ago when they spent
their honeymoon in Italy. For almost
two weeks, they stayed in romantic
hotels in places like the fabled isle of

Capri. The highlight was four days
in Positano, a small resort town in
southern Italy, carved into a moun-
tain off the Amalfi coast.
Staying in Le Sirenuse Hotel, they
dined in the open air on the roof top
amidst strolling violinists, walked
down ageless winding staircases built
into the rocky landscape, strolled the
beaches and generally took in the
beauty of the region."
"It was the most beautiful place on
the planet," said Carol, adding that
since that time they have traveled to
Israel.

Exotic Destination

Annabel Cohen of Bloomfield Hills
took a dream trip last April when she
