works out in the gym when he is
home from school to maintain his
strength," Ruscitti says. "Even with his
prosthetic, he trains. He's in great
shape. He is resilient, fun and positive
to be around."
Ruscitti says not only has the staff
stepped up to help, but gym members
have, too. "Many have already made
donations," she says. "And a few have
given their frequent flyer miles to the
Lash family for trips to the hospital
out of state."
To help boost the turnout,
Powerhouse staff will provide breakfast
and lunch to riders.
"If Matt were my child, I would
want to make sure everyone reached
out, with their prayers and their dona-
tions," says Barb Kane, Powerhouse
personal trainer and international pre-
senter for Team Spinning U.S.A. (Mad
Dogg Athletics Inc.), who is one of
four leaders of the Spin-A-Thon.
