Swimmers Excel
At State Meets
Several Jewish swimmers performed well
at the Michigan High School Athletic
Association championships March 8-9.
At the Class A meet in Ann Arbor,
Berkley High School's Adam Braunfin-
ished sixth in the 200-yard individual
medley (1:56.83) and fourth in the 100-
yard freestyle (47.61). Alex Nienberg of
Birmingham Groves was seventh in the
100 breaststroke (1:00.15).
At the Class B-C-D meet in Ypsilanti,
Bryan Elkus of Bloomfield Hills
Andover finished sixth in one-meter div-
ing (326.15 points).

Free Israel Trip
For Young Adults
Hillel of Metro Detroit and other state
Hillel foundations are sponsoring free
10-day Birthright Israel trips to Israel in
May.
The trips are open to young adults
between 18-26 who have never been to
Israel on a peer-group trip. Specific dates
have not been set, but the trip is expect-
ed to depart in early May.
