the once downtrodden and forlorn
Diplomat Mall is cleaning out its old
tenants and going for upscale like the
1960s. Remember the fabulous Drug
World store? It sold the best of every-
thing and in addition was a discount
drug store. I remember they had my
mother-in-law's favorite cigars there. I
paid extra for stale.
"Finally, there is the issue of Florida
real estate. The houses here start at
$200,000 and for this you get a lot on
a sinkhole that will collapse as soon as
your warranty is up. In addition, you
will get no land as the zero lot line
covers only the land under the house.
If you want to garden, you have to do
it at the back of your neighbor's house
on the one-foot common strip.
"There are live-in psychiatrists now
at each subdivision to help those who
are crazy enough to buy.
"We also now have our first kosher
motel in Boca Raton. It's called the
King David. It also is the first motel
where you actually get to haggle over
the price of the room when you check
out. The same policy applies in the
restaurant, where a lady got two
corned beef sandwiches for $1.00. Of
course, they added $15 to her room."
KORN KORNER ... From Murry
Koblin of S/K Advertising ... This guy
goes to the rabbi complaining that he
is dying.
"My wife must be poisoning me. I
feel worse each day. Would you please
talk to her?"
After a six-hour conversation with
the wife, the rabbi says, "Take the
poison!!!"

OLDIE BUT GOODIE DEPT...

from Melanie Litwin ... A man was
on Jegent Street in London and
entered a posh gourmet food shop. A
salesman in a morning coat with tails
approached and politely asked, "May
I help you, sir?"
"Yes," replied the customer. "I
would like to buy a pound of lox."
"No, no, sir," responded the sales-
man, "you mean smoked salmon."
"Okay, a pound of smoked
salmon."
'Anything else, sir?"
"Yes, a dozen blintzes."
"No, no, you mean crepes."
'Anything else?"
"Yes, a pound of chopped liver."
"No, no, you mean pate"
"Okay," said the Jewish patron, "a
pound of pate, and I'd like you to
deliver the order this Saturday."
"Sir," said the indignant salesman,
"we don't shlep chazzerai on
