Studios. His daughter, Melissa, was diag-
nosed with multiple sclerosis at age 15.
At the luncheon, she gave an encourag-
ing speech about living with the disease
and read an inspiring poem praising the
support of her family. "I am determined
to beat the disease," said Melissa. "I am
not a victim; I'm a fighter."
Supporting the Sheraks on their visit
to Detroit and in the fight against MS
were the Altman cousins. The Altman
clan — Jules and Debbie Altman,
Suzanne and Smart Gildenberg, Jolie
and David Altman, and Karen and Seth
Gould — all attended the event.
