Galilee Women
To Visit Area

Three Israeli women from the
Central Galilee will arrive.in Metro
Detroit on Tuesday, March 12, for
a six-day visit, sponsored by the
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit's Partnership 2000
Program.
The itinerary includes participat-
ing in the Women's Department
Women's Seder on Thursday,
March 14, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue.
The women each had roles in
planning the partnership region's
first Women's Seder, which took
place last year. They are actively
planning this year's event in Israel
as well.
In addition to attending the
seder, the women will have the
opportunity to meet community
leaders as well as speak to two
classes on women's studies at
Marygrove College in Detroit.
All three women, Liora Lurie,
Michal Nadler, and Judith Yaniv,
live and work in the Partnership
2000 region in the Central Galilee.
Liora Lurie, born in Romania,
made aliyah to Israel when she was
6. She is a social worker, active vol-
unteer and former member of the
Israel Defense Forces. Lurie lives in
the Upper Nazareth with her hus-
band and two daughters.
Michal Nadler is a laboratory
technician. She volunteers at a hos-
pital that serves both Jews and
Arabs.
Judith Yaniv was born and raised
in Haifa. She holds a bachelor of
arts in public administration and a
master of arts in communications.
Yaniv works for the Israel Port
Authority and is a supporter and
volunteer of programs involving
women's issues. She and her hus-
band live in Midgal Ha'emek and
have three children.
The cost of the seder, which
includes a Passover meal, is. $36 per
person, payable in advance. To
