SHE THOUGHT IT was a birthday
party for Eugene Friedman ... and even
jokingly asked her good friend, Tamara
Friedman, why the shindig was being
given on her own birthday.
Galina Pavlova didn't bat an eyelash
when Eugene got up to say a few words
... but her eyes opened very wide ... and
her motith even wider when Eugene
said that everyone was there to honor
Galina.
The 70 guests drank straight vodka
and Scotch galore and the Russian
favorite mixed drink of cranberry juice
and vodka ... and danced, dined, etc.
and made much merry in celebration ...
Fittingly so, the fun was at the Fiddler
banquet room, next to the restaurant
owned by her brother, Mike Kuchersky,
in West Bloomfield.
There were a lot of tears of joy for
Galina ... She is loved very much.
MAIL DEPT ... from Rudy and
Julia Keller ... "We were recently in
the Walled Lake area looking for a
casual meal and came upon a place
called Lakeview Bar and Grill, where
13 Mile ends just at Walled Lake.
The owner, Jay, is a Russian Jew who
we knew from the Jewish
Community Center. He runs an
excellent spot. The food was out-
standing and moderately priced and
the drinks were reasonable. We rec-
ommend this spot when looking for
an inexpensive and fun place to
dine." ... (Lakeview is owned by for-
mer Menjo's owner, Boris Griesdorf.
His nephew, Jay Igol, is Boris' part-
ner.)
